Suffrage
Women didn’t always have the right to vote…crazy, right?!? Women were not treated as full citizens. If this comes as a shock, wait until you hear about the Equal Rights Amendment (of 1921) that STILL hasn’t passed! According to the U.S. Constitution, us ladyfolk are still not considered equal. Not cool, bro.
But thanks to generations of women who protested, organized, marched, were beaten and jailed for literally one hundred years, the 19th amendment was finally ratified. Because of these brave women, you have a voice - use it! Or else the Suffragists will haunt you in your dreams! (Editor Note: We’re not sure if they will actually haunt you in your dreams…but we think they should. VOTE!)
