NOTORIOUS VCW Youth T-Shirt
Back in the late 1800s, women were considered merely the property of their husbands. They did not have the right to their own property or money, could not sign a contract, and definitely could not vote. So what did Victoria Woodhull do? She became the first woman to run a Wall Street stock brokerage, founded a weekly newspaper, and in 1872 became the first woman to RUN FOR PRESIDENT!
Woodhull was unable to cast a vote for herself because…well…she was a woman. But also because she was in jail. After writing about a scandal involving a prominent preacher who had a known and ongoing extra marital affair, SHE was thrown in jail on obscenity charges. Yeah, that tracks for the times.
This super soft t-shirt is made from 100% combed and ring-spun cotton.
